As an excellent newspapers reader provided by Xiaoa Tech., ABOT News Reader allows you to read more 2000 well-known publications electronic version of newspapers directly. You will trouble nothing about spending money and buying newspaper with this tool. On the other hand, you can get the latest news all over the world at home if you computer is connected to the Internet.

Abot News Reader touts its more than 2,000 newspaper links, but unless you're fluent in Chinese, you'll miss out on most of its features.

At the start of the program, a nag screen asks you to register and buy the product, but you'll be able to try the product by clicking OK. The interface is very plain with a tree menu on the left listing "National," "World," and "American State" newspapers and an expandable screen on the right for viewing them. It comes with three different skins, none of which are very attractive or noticeably different from each other.

All the links that we selected during our tests loaded very fast and we were able to view our desired newspapers, but the American State links displayed sites in Chinese. There's a Favorites folder, but you'll have to choose from the preloaded links as you can't add newspapers to the list. A help menu is included, but it takes you to the publisher's site and offers no real help. Additionally, our IE home page was changed without our permission and the program didn't block any pop-up ads.

It should be no surprise then that we can't recommend this program as a viable newsreader.
