Sketsa SVG Editor is modern lightweight cross-platform vector graphics editor with strong relation to the open format known as Scalable VectorGraphics or SVG. Sketsa combines easy user interface, familiar to any digital painter or designer, with deep capabilities to utilize the SVG ideology and features.
Sketsa has modern tabbed interface, where you can edit any number of SVG files simultaneously. The application’s toolbox consists of narrow-but-sufficient number of shapes and tools, which can be used for drawing or transforming drawings. Each drawn object (shape) has its own properties editor, where the object’s interior (geometry, stroke, fill, and filter) can be modified in detail; also, there is a very smart «defs editor», where complex gradients and filters can be defined, stored and reused for several different objects.
Sketsa pays serious attention to the SVG format itself. By its nature, SVG is a subset of the textual XML format, so, Sketsa tries to generate the cleanest, simple and readable SVG code, and also allows you to edit this code itself.
The code editor provides syntax highlighting, and you can switch between the code and the representation to achieve the best effect.
Besides saving .svg and .svgz (compressed SVG) files, Sketsa can rasterize your pictures to JPEG and PNG formats.
Draw and make documents using vector drawing tool. The properties of most object (SVG Element) that are represented in the canvas can be viewed in a properties panel. In this panel, the properties of selected object is shown. The properties window is divided into 4 categories: geometry, stroke, fill, and filter.
In each of the category you can change the value and automatically shown in the canvas.
In the geometry properties, you can change the geometry value of selected object. Such as the shown in the example above. Just type the desired value into the text field provided and press enter, the changes will be reflected automatically on the canvas.
